If an error in your cash register occurs so that you cannot register sales you are obligated to error report your devices to the Swedish Tax Agency.
Call 010-576 60 60 or e-mail kassaregister@skatteverket.se. You can also make your error report on the Swedish Tax Agency's website, where you can log in with BankID.
Give your organization number, and the Tax Agency's ID-number on the control unit and the cash register. Your error report will be noted by the Tax Agency. If you do this on the Tax Agency's website you can follow instructions there.
Sales may occur without a functioning cash register, but the store must always offer customers a handwritten receipt. These sales may not be entered into the cash register after the fact, this must be accounted for manually in a ledger. This is then connected to the Swedish Tax Agency's error report. If you would like complete information regarding this please contact the Tax Agency or search their website for information on Malfunction reports and operating failures.
Follow these instructions to sell without a functioning cash register:
- Note all sales on paper. Information that is required is:
- Date and time
- Article name
- Number of goods or services
- Price
- Value added tax
- Company name and organization number
- Address to the store
- Leave a written receipt to the customer if they ask for one.
- Summarize your sales at the end of the day.
- Use the ledger for accounting.
Note - Sales may not be registered in the cash register afterwards! Your paper journal is your accounting record in this case.
If the cash register error is handled very quickly, the Tax Agency won't need to be informed.
If an exchange of control unit or cash register needs to be done this exchange needs to be reported to the Swedish Tax Agency. Call 010-576 60 60 or e-mail kassaregister@skatteverket.se.
Give your organization number, and the Tax Agency's ID-number on the control unit and the cash register. Give the serial numbers of the new units as well. The Swedish Tax Agency will post new ID-number stickers.
If you make the exchange through us and we send you a new cash register or control unit, we will make the report to the Tax Agency for you and you do not need to do it yourselves.
