If your checkout feels slow, try the following steps. If the first one doesn't solve the problem, move on to the next tip:
1. Switch off the checkout overnight
Once you've done the Z-report and closed for the day, switch off the checkout completely. Leave it off overnight and start it again in the morning. This frees up memory and can improve performance.
2. Use network cable instead of WiFi
If you use the cash register via wireless network - try plugging in a network cable instead.
Once the cable is connected:
-
Go to Settings on your Android device.
-
Select More and then Ethernet.
-
Check that Ethernet is enabled.
A fixed connection often provides a more stable and faster connection.
3. Ensure a stable WiFi network (if cable is not possible)
If you must use WiFi, check that:
-
The POS is connected to a private network not used by customers.
-
There are as few other devices as possible on the same network - many connected devices can negatively affect both stability and speed.
