If the Internet has gone down and the cash register needs to connect to empty its transaction queue or maybe reach the cloud control unit, it can help to share internet from your phone.
NOTE! If you have a connected card terminal via cable this won't be able to receive purchases since it receives an internet connection from the cable connected network.
To connect to a personal hotspot, follow these instructions:
- Start the internet sharing on your mobile phone as a Personal Wi-Fi hotspot. Exactly how you do this depends on what model of phone you have. It is difficult for us to describe this step since there are so many different manufacturers and models. If you are unsure, you should search for step-by-step instructions.
- In your cash register, close the Onslip app. On older models it is the button that resembles a house in the bottom left of the screen. On the E800 model you swipe up with your finger at the bottom of the screen. A gray list of buttons is shown. Press the circle in the middle.
- Go to Settings. On older models you will find it when you press the 6 dots in the top right.
- Choose Wi-Fi. If Wi-Fi is turned off you will need to turn it on.
- Choose your mobile hotspot in the list and connect.
- You are now connected via Wi-Fi to your phone that is sharing internet. Close Settings and open Onslip again. You can continue to work.
