Connecting Onslip to Fortnox is a fantastic way to save time and let your accounting take care of itself. To ensure your Z-reports are transferred fully automatically and end up in the right place, the settings in Backoffice and Fortnox need to match perfectly. Here’s a simple guide on how to quickly interpret the system’s guidance and optimize your connection!
Here’s how to fine-tune based on the system’s messages:
If a transfer stalls, Backoffice will always give you a message about what needs to be reviewed
Message: The voucher series is not set to manual (F). For the export to work smoothly, the F series in Fortnox must allow manual posting for the current fiscal year.
- Here’s what to do: Log in to Fortnox, select the correct fiscal year, and go to Settings → Voucher Series. Enable the Manual Posting feature for the F-series and save. (It may take a moment for the latest Z-reports to appear.)
Message: Invalid account This simply means that you need to enter your chart of accounts in the Backoffice so that Fortnox knows where to send the data.
- Here’s what to do: Follow our guide to enter your chart of accounts. Good to know: New account settings apply to all future reports. You’ll need to enter previous reports manually.
Message: Account “xxxx” is not active. The account the system is trying to send data to is currently inactive in your Fortnox system and needs to be reactivated.
- Here’s what to do: Log in to Fortnox and mark the relevant account as active, and the export will resume!
Message: Voucher series “F - Cash” is missing To complete the export, the system is waiting for a specific location to store the data in Fortnox.
- Here’s what to do: Create a voucher series named F within Fortnox.
Message: Access denied / Permission denied. This indicates that we need to grant the systems additional permissions to communicate with each other.
- Here’s what to do: Make sure you have the Fortnox Accounting license and that your user has been assigned the correct permissions for integrations. If you’re unsure, Fortnox Support will be happy to help you review your user permissions!
Does the system display the message: erp-integration.fortnox.2002518? This message usually appears when the integration just needs a quick refresh and a restart, for example, if a license has recently been updated.
Here's how to reset the connection:
- 1. Reactivate: Log in to the Backoffice, go to Configure → Integrations. Click on Fortnox and select Reactivate/Activate.
- 2. License check: Double-check that you have an active license for integrations within Fortnox.
- 3.Please reload the page in your browser. If the connection doesn't work right away, it might be because your browser is still holding onto an old session. Make sure your browser allows cookies, or clear your browsing history.
- Tip: If, contrary to expectations, the connection still does not respond after these steps, the quickest and easiest solution is usually to remove the integration entirely from the Backoffice and set it up again from scratch. Read more about how to easily set up Fortnox again here.
