To ensure maximum reliability and prevent receipts from getting lost on the network, we recommend assigning a fixed (static) IP address to network printers (ETH). This guide is intended for users with basic networking knowledge.
Step 1: Print the printer’s network status
Start by determining the printer’s current network information.
Turn off the printer.
Hold down the FEED button and turn on the printer at the same time. Release the button when it starts printing.
Read the receipt. After a longer section with general information, you will find the section for network settings. Look for IP Address.
Exempel på utskrift:
Interface Type: Ethernet
IP Address: 192.168.101.049
MAC Address: 001341 06CA74
SUBNET Mask: 255.255.0.0
GATEWAY: 192.168.0.1
Printer Port: 9100
DHCP: Enabled
Step 2: Log in to the printer’s interface
Open any web browser (e.g., Chrome or Safari) on a computer or tablet connected to the same network as the printer..
Enter the printer’s IP address (from the receipt) in the address bar and press Enter..
You will now see the printer’s landing page. Click Configure Interface in the menu on the left.
A login window will appear. Enter admin as the username. Leave the password field completely blank and click Next
Step 3: Change to a static IP
In the settings, you’ll see that DHCP Client is selected (which means automatic address).
Change this by selecting Fixed IP Address instead.
Here, you can now enter the desired static IP address (or keep the existing one if it’s to be locked).
Click Save.
Then click Reboot in the menu on the left to restart the printer and activate the new setting.
Step 4: Verify the change
To ensure the printer is now locked to the address, print a new test receipt (turn off, hold down FEED, and start). Note that the information may now have moved higher up on the receipt under the heading Communication Interface. The most important thing is that it now says DHCP: Disabled.
Example of verified printout:
Communication Interface
Interface Type: Ethernet
IP Address: 192.168.101.049
DHCP: Disabled
