If the cash register feels slow
Onslip is an app-based POS system that can be downloaded from the App Store (for iOS and iPadOS) or the Google Play Store (for Android). Since Onslip is an app, it works on a variety of devices..
Good to know: Technology and operating systems are constantly evolving. To ensure the Onslip app works optimally, we recommend using modern hardware with the latest version of Android, iOS, or iPadOS installed. Up-to-date hardware provides the app with the best possible conditions for stable operation.
Tips for ensuring your hardware works optimally with the Onslip app
1.Regular reboots can contribute to even more stable operation. Once today’s Z-report is complete and the business is closed, we recommend that you shut down your hardware completely. By letting the device rest overnight and restarting it in the morning, you ensure that the device’s operating system gets a fresh start. This gives apps such as the Onslip app better conditions to run stably and with good performance.
2.We recommend a wired network connection. If your hardware supports a wired network connection or can be connected via an adapter, we strongly recommend using a wired connection for the highest possible stability and a consistent connection.
- Tip: It’s often a good idea to turn off your device’s Wi-Fi (wireless connection) completely when the network cable is connected, so the operating system doesn’t try to switch between different networks. (Note: The exact menus for this differ between iOS and Android).
3. Ensure a stable Wi-Fi connection if a wired network connection isn’t used. If your device will connect to the internet via Wi-Fi:
- Use a private network: Set up a hidden or password-protected Wi-Fi network used exclusively for devices such as your payment system and POS system, and do not share it with guests, staff, or customers, to ensure a reliable connection for your devices.
Review the number of devices on the same network. To ensure that your devices requiring internet access always have access to full bandwidth, we recommend that the network only have devices such as the POS system and payment system connected.
