In Onslip, you can easily customize which payment methods are visible to your staff. Standard methods (such as cards and cash) can be quickly enabled or disabled directly at the checkout, while entirely new payment methods (such as Swish or gift cards) are created in the Backoffice.
Part 1: Hide or show existing payment methods (in the Checkout)
Are you a cashless business? Then it’s easiest to turn off “Cash” completely, so no one accidentally selects the wrong option in stressful situations.
Tap the menu button (the three lines) in the top-left corner of the checkout app.
Select Settings (second from the bottom of the list).
Tap Payment Methods. Here you’ll see the default options: Cash, Card, and Invoice.
Use the toggles to disable the payment methods you don’t want to use.
-
Tap Back, then Close.
Done! The disabled payment method has now been completely removed from the payment view.
Part 2: Create a brand-new payment method (in the Backoffice)
Do you need to add Swish, Foodora, or your own gift card? You can do that in the Backoffice.
Log in to the Backoffice.
Click Configure in the top menu, then select Payment Method & Tips.
Click the green Create Payment Method button on the right.
Select payment method type:
System Service: Select this from the drop-down list of pre-built integrations (e.g., Swish Handel).
Custom: Select this for completely custom solutions, such as Gift Cards or Foodora.
Configure other settings (Optional):
Depending on how advanced your setup is, you can also configure the following:
Rounding & VAT: Specify whether the payment method should be rounded or if it is linked to a specific VAT rate.
Accounting: Do you have a chart of accounts set up? Enter the correct Cash Account, Settlement Account, and VAT Account so that sales are posted correctly.
Labels: Link the payment method to a label (e.g., “Staff”) if it is to trigger a specific staff discount.
Click “Create payment method” when you're ready.
Important: Go to your POS app, log out, and log back in to update the system. Your new payment method will now be available when you tap the “Other” button on the payment screen!

Part 3: Add the payment method as a shortcut in the checkout
In order for the payment method to appear directly as a shortcut on the start page at checkout, you need to customise the checkout.
- Here you can read the article on how to add ‘Quick buttons’ for payment.
Please click here.
Please note: You can select a maximum of 4 quick buttons in the checkout. The remaining payment methods you have created will appear in the left-hand view under ‘Other’ when you press the ‘Checkout’ button.
