Sales cut-off point - what is it and why is it important?
Do you run a business that is open after midnight, such as a bar, restaurant or shop open at night? If so, it might be a good idea to adjust the cut-off time in your POS system.
The sales cut-off point determines what time of day the system will consider a new sales day to begin. By default, this is midnight (00:00), but if your business is active after that time, it can give a misleading picture in reports and records - as sales after 00:00 are otherwise counted to the next day.
Exemple:
If you close at 02:00 but haven't moved the sales cut-off point, all sales between 00:00 and 02:00 will be posted to the next day - which can cause problems in accounting, reporting and daily reports.
How to change the sales breakpoint in Onslip:
-
Log in to Backoffice.
-
Go to Configure > Company details.
-
Set the desired time for the sales cut-off point - for example 04:00 if you often have sales long after midnight.
The new breakpoint will apply to reports, journals and other time-based statistics in the POS system.
