You can add a barcode scanner to your checkout if you have a lot of different items and don't want to have to look for a specific button. A quick and easy solution!
Add barcodes to your articles
When you want to use the scanner to add barcodes in Backoffice, put the cable into a free USB slot on your computer. Then scan a code underneath. Read to the left which code is correct for you.

Now you can scan barcodes when you edit products in Backoffice.
Connect the barcode reader
Connect the reader via USB cable to your cash register.
Scan the activation code ‘PAP131’ - it is required to activate the scanner. The code can be found in the ‘Getting Started - Honeywell Scanner’ guide, which is attached as a PDF at the bottom of this article.
Activate the barcode scanner in the cash register
Log in to the cash register.
Press the menu button (the three horizontal lines at the top left).
Go to Settings > Devices.
Tap the gear icon next to USB devices.
- Activate the Barcode Scanner option.
- Close the settings - done!
If you want the barcode scanner to scan automatically without needing to hold the button, use the codes below.

Zebra DS2278
NOTE: This model can only be used in Onslip on iOS models like iPad or iPhone.
These instructions apply specifically for Zebra DS2278.
Add barcodes to your articles
When you want to use the scanner to add barcodes in Backoffice, put the cable into a free USB slot on your computer. If you have a cradle for the barcode scanner you can put the cable from the cradle into the computer.
Scan Restore Defaults, then USB Keyboard HID and the Swedish region code. If you have a cradle put the scanner in the cradle and wait until it beeps. Now you can scan barcodes when you edit products in Backoffice.
Activate the barcode scanner in the cash register
When you are done inputting barcodes in Backoffice it's time to connect it to the cash register again.
Scan Restore Defaults. Open Onslip on your iPad or iPhone. When you are logged in go to Settings, choose Devices and press the info button on the header Bluetooth Devices.
Scan the Scan-To-Connect barcode under the header Zebra. Confirm the connection, then press Cancel, press the 3 dots in the top right and choose Refresh Services. On the row Zebra DS2278 …… under Bluetooth Devices, press the blue cogwheel and turn Barcode Scanner on.
If you have difficulty pairing, close the Onslip app and make sure in your Bluetooth-settings that the barcode scanner is not currently connected. If it is, press the info button and forget the device. Then try pairing it again by scanning the Scan-To-Connect barcode.
If you want to use the barcode scanner on more than one device you will need to scan the device's Scan-To-Connect barcode when you want to switch.
