Onslip are constantly working to develop modern and user friendly solutions that digitalize your work and makes it easier and more enjoyable for you as an owner, so you can focus on doing what you love.
We've collected a series of tips and tricks that you may not be aware your Onslip cash register can do.
Invoicing directly from the cash register
We have support for directly creating invoices for customers in Fortnox, Spiris and Bjorn Lunden.
To easily get started with invoicing directly via the checkout, read more about it here.
Accounting and bookkeeping
By entering your chart of accounts into Onslip, the cash register will provide you with accounting data at the bottom of every Z-report according to your specifications, ready to be entered into your bookkeeping software.
It makes things even easier to combine a complete accounting basis with our integration with Fortnox, Spiris and Bjorn Lunden. With the integration, every Z-report will automatically be pushed to your financial system and you don't have to lift a finger.
We have a separate help article for accounting documents here.
Table management
Do you have a restaurant with table serving? By adding table maps to your Onslip cash register, your staff can more easily coordinate the serving in the dining hall.
With table management, cashiers and waiting staff can save orders onto tables.
If you have a kitchen printer, the table name is printed onto the kitchen ticket. This is especially useful for restaurants and cafés.
We have a separate article for table management here.
Logo on receipt and customer display
A nice logo will make your company stand out, and reflect your company's personality. The logo can be added to the receipt and the customer screen.
Have your logo prepared as an image on your computer.
Log in to Backoffice at www.onslip360.com.
Click the header Configuration and choose Locations & Receipt Information.
Click Edit on the cash register's location.
At the bottom of the page, you can upload a Receipt Logo and a Customer Screen Logo.
You will be able to rescale the image when it is being uploaded.
When you are done, you will see a preview of the receipt on the right side.
If you are satisfied, click Save Changes.
Log in and out of the cash register, and you're done!
Customer records and purchasing behaviour
Building relationships with your customers is an important part of running a business. By linking a purchase at the checkout to a customer, you can gain valuable insights into their buying behaviour - such as how much they spend and what they tend to buy.
Benefits of the customer register
With a built-up customer register you can:
- Send SMS messages with offers, news and promotions
- Export customer data for use in other systems, such as email services
- Understand your customers' buying patterns for better marketing and service
- Add customer at checkout
It's easy to ask the customer at the point of purchase if they want to be part of your customer register. On the checkout screen, tap Add Customer at the bottom and register the customer directly. You only need to enter a name - other details like phone number and address are optional.
Manage customers in Backoffice
You can also manage your customer register via Backoffice at www.onslip360.com.
Go to Loyalty > Customers to view and download your entire register.
Send SMS mailings
You create SMS mailings under Loyalty > SMS campaigns.
There you can easily create and send campaigns to your registered customers.
Want to learn more about how SMS campaigns work? See our help article on SMS campaigns.

Internet connection - wiring diagram
What is an connection diagram?
An internet connection diagram shows how different devices are connected to create a working internet connection. For example, it can show how your router, modem and various devices (such as cash registers, computers or card terminals) are connected.
A basic connection diagram often looks like this:
- Internet provider →
- Modem (sometimes combined with router) →
- Router →
- Wired devices (via network cable) and wireless devices (via WiFi)
It is important that cash register systems and other business-critical devices are stably connected - preferably by cable - to minimise interference.
See recommended connection diagram for POS and related equipment
To ensure a smooth and trouble-free installation of your POS and related equipment, we strongly recommend that you take a look at our detailed wiring diagram. This diagram has been designed to help you avoid common installation issues and optimise the performance of your POS system. See more here.
Gift cards and coupon vouchers
By selling vouchers you receive money up front, and your customers get the chance to give value to someone they like.
Our built in voucher system will keep track of the customers voucher balance and expiration date, you can also see a complete transaction history per voucher.
The vouchers details are all printed on the purchase receipt. The receipt is de facto the customers document of value, but you can also complement it by writing the vouchers number onto one of your own gift cards for an extra personal touch.
We have a separate article for vouchers here.
How to set up your kitchen printer
A kitchen printer is used to print out orders for food, drinks or other items - and send them directly to the kitchen, bar or other workstation. Read more about how here.
How to adjust item order
You can now decide how you want products to appear in your ticket. Choose between two options to configure the product order for each voucher printer:
Alphabetical order: Products are automatically sorted in alphabetical order within each category. This makes it easy to find specific products, especially if you have a large assortment in the ticket.
Position in receipt: Products are displayed in the order they are added to the receipt. This option gives you the flexibility to customise the order according to your specific needs, for example based on popularity or logical workflow.
